After receiving his Bachelor degree in Creative Writing and his Associate degree in Graphic Design, Bryan Caron jumped head first into his pursuit of reaching his ultimate goal: making a living with writing and film. Since 2005, Bryan has showed his tremendous skill in a variety of mediums, writing several screenplays, writing (and publishing) both short stories and novels alike, and producing several films under his company banner, Divine Trinity Films. And though accolades and attention have been so far allusive and small, Bryan continues to push forward, creating and writing works that he feels a great passion for, and is beginning to see the fruits of his efforts beginning to blossom. It all began in 2005 while working as a graphic designer at a arts academy in San Diego, California. Through several contacts, Bryan would team up for his first glimpse of independent filmmaking while writing and co-editing a short film for the 48-hour international Film Festival, in which the film would become a top-50 finalist. Soon after, Bryan approached the director, Kurt Braun with a script Bryan had written and wanted to produce. Kurt was intrigued and the film, Trinity, was completed in 2006. Shortly after the film’s completion, Bryan used the knowledge he gained on the film to film a 5-minute short film, The Rose, for entry into Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett’s reality series, "On The Lot." Both films failed to garner much attention, but they were building blocks to his newest, and most successful collaboration—a partnership with the Fallbrook Film Factory, a not-for-profit film consortium of anyone with a passion for film, and of which Bryan has been a member for three years. Together, the groups have created several films and commercials together. The first, and still most successful of these collaborations, My Necklace, Myself, has gone on to win several awards and was released on DVD August 17, 2010, through FilmWorks Entertainment and Around the Scenes Releasing. The film, about a young girl who learns who she really is with the use of a magical necklace allowing her to be anything she wants, won Bryan a Best Screenplay (Short Film) award at the 2009 Treasure Coast International Film Festival, a second place for Best Short Film at the 2009 International Family Film Festival, and received the Dove Family Seal of Approval for ager 12+. Bryan also wrote the lyrics for and directed a music video to highlight the important message, How To Be. As the film was making the rounds through several film festivals throughout 2009, Bryan spent that year completing his second novel (his first, Jaxxa Rakala: The Search was published in 2006) and writing and directing 12, a web-series pilot that parodies the world of the hit-television show, "24," by taking the action into high school. Soon after completion, Bryan helped the Fallbrook Film Factory create several commercials advertising the 3rd Annual Fallbrook Film Festival. Along with helping out as Second Unit Director and crew on two of these pieces, he also wrote and directed Charlie’s Ticket, a nod to Charlie Chaplin and the silent movies of old. The commercials ran as a series in three UltraStar theaters in North San Diego County from the beginning of March through April 11, 2010. And because of its popularity, a shorter 30-second version of Charlie’s Ticket was created to broadcast on Time Warner Cable From March 19 until the end of the festival. Currently, Bryan is in post-production on his new feature film, Secrets of the Desert Nymph, and is looking at several other projects to begin, including a new novel, several screenplays and a musical stage play with his How To Be collaborator, Kyle McNeill. all the while continuing to work full-time as a graphic designer. He currently resides in Riverside County. Visit his IMDB page here, or click here to see Bryan Caron's Talent Reels, as well as clips and trailers of this fantastic writer and director. |
